I wanted to share with you some photos I took a few weeks ago when we got our christmas tree. My kids are always so excited to begin decorating. We always use colored lights on the tree as opposed to white. We tried white out one year and it just didn’t feel like “us.” This year we purchased new lights that have deeper colors than the 6 or 7 year old ones we had been using. I recently got a brand new Nikon 24-70mm lens (love this lens!) and photographed the tree lights, using that lens, manual focus and my tripod. The colors are muted with a dark background and to me they bring a solemness to the light. This time of year in many cultures and faiths includes celebrations of light: Hanukkah’s festival of lights, Yule: celebration of the winter solstice, etc. I love color and I love sitting in my living room with the regular lights off, and just sitting looking at the xmas tree, with the ornaments sparkling next to the colorful lights. I hope you enjoy this season and time of year as much as I do.
Happy Holidays to all of my clients, friends, family and fellow human beings. Enjoy the colors and lights of the season. To each of you may there be love and light in the coming year and always.
